I grew up going to the old cabbage patch house a little further into the heart of Cleveland on Hood Street. Now the cabbages have moved on up into a HUGE plantation located at 300 N.O.K. Drive in Cleveland (only about 10 minutes from the Bavarian Town of Helen, Georgia) It's a huge place now, nice, but some of the special charm has been lost. Every 15 minutes or so you get to watch "mother cabbage" tree birth a baby from the cabbage patch which is always magical! The "real" cloth cabbage dolls are $200, so make sure you can back up your promise to adopt one! The newborn babies with just diapers are from $50-$70. Of course, there is a store that sells plastic dolls that range from $15-$40, so a nice alternative if your kid doesn't know the difference (they weren't born in a cabbage field, so trust me, they'll know the difference!) But anyway, it's a neat place and something fun to do for free!
This is a fun place to take the kids during the winter or HOT days of summer. Keep in mind that it is a little cheesy, but the kids love it. Also keep in mind that the "adoption fees" for the babies are VERY pricey for the full cloth babies. You will definitely want to check out the prices before promising your child their own doll. They have a nice little giftshop with cheaper dolls in it though.
I could have spent my day doing something else. I thought this was going to be more fun for my daughter but we were not so impressed. It was kind of strange seeing a babydoll being born out of a head of cabbage. The drive was nice and I did get to show my daughter where I went to college.
