This research center is located in a beautiful valley. In the tops of redwoods and pines standing in deep, wooded canyons, herons and egrets make their nests. A short trail
leads to fixed telescopes for nest-watching, and you can walk on two 3-mile-long loop trails and a short nature trail. Watch for newts, frogs, foxes, deer, and quail. Adjacent
to a circa-1870 house are exhibits, a bookshop, and picnic tables.
