The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are filled with lots of fun things to do. For younger kids, be sure to check out the Children's Garden.
....but we'd like to visit again. We took our 4yo son and 18mo daughter on a chilly, rainy day because our half-price tickets were expiring. We enjoyed the walk through the trees and the orchid house, but unfortunately we weren't able to do much else. I have friends that have memberships there and use them frequently to entertain their small children, and I've heard the playground is nice.
We have been going to the Botanical Gardens since my daughters were in strollers. Story time in the Children's Garden is perfect for toddlers to school age kids. In the summer we love to play in the fountains. My 5 year old has learned so much by visiting the gardens. Check the calendar for special events and wear a comfy pair of shoes.
You'll love this place! Its beautiful any time of year, but Spring is the best! You can even take bicycles there or rent them. Enjoy all the flowers, the lake & even the few deer that make there way along there sometimes. Its definitely a must see. You'll enjoy it as much as us- we've been there several times!
I am the mother of two children. We like
Doing things together as a family. We have visited the gardens two years in a row and really enjoy seeing all of the beautiful sights and sounds .the reason I rated this a
Three out of five is the price it is too high but my family will be back next year.
Very cool! I visited with my Pre-K class - 20 four and five year olds - and they all loved it! We went through the gardens in small groups for crowd control and this worked out well. We picnicked in the grassy field in the garden area and that also worked out well. No worries about spills! The flowers are great, lots of variety, and work well for a unit of flowers for small children.
The girls and I have been going to the Botanical Gardens for ten years now and love it every time. The Children's Garden is wonderful for combining play and learning in a pleasant setting. Both girls have taken the "Young Sprouts" classes at the garden and learned about plants, animals and the ecosystem. Walking through the "rainforest" is always a highlight. The cafe has some kids' meal options, as well.
Load up the kiddos and pack a picnic...it's just gorgeous at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. From the flowers to the sculptures, it makes for a great day of roaming around and letting the kids have a bit of freedom! Just don't forget your camera!! The spring time is fabulous.
We love to take our children here in the spring. All the flowers are in bloom and it is so full of life. If you look onlie before you plan your trip they sometimes have special things going on so you can plan your trip. It is worth spending the money to take the children. Great photo opps and so many pretty flowers and butterflies.
I've always had a blast with the family and in the surrounding Piedmont Park area. It's beautiful and interesting. I good change of scenery. The Gardens are stroller friendly and kids love the Jungle area complete with animals and butterflies. There is nothing like it in the city!
I love the gardens because it's fun for kids and adults. You walk through all of the gardens and see beautiful flowers and plants and then they have a kids area with a fountain that kids can run through and a play area. They also have a little stand with food and ice cream.
The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are a beautiful place to explore an amazing array of flowers. There are so many different settings to enjoy. Greenhouse, ponds, and rose gardens to name a few. They are usually doing something special showcases within the gardens, which makes the experience extra special.
The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is a surprisingly fun trip for kids. The park is made up of different gardens throughout with plenty of green spaces for the children to run around. There are oftentimes arts and crafts projects set up throughout the park to give the children a little something extra to focus their attention. But the best part for the children is the children's garden. With a Beatrix Potter theme, the children can run in mazes just their size, play house, and dance on a stage. Lots of fun for all and a great way to spend the day outside.
The botanical gardens in Atlanta are a lot of fun for everyone. There are plenty of interesting plants and bugs to look at and there are wide open spaces to run. There is also a fountain that shoots up from the floor to cool you on those summer days. Remember to bring your swimsuit and your sunscreen!!
