this wasn't so much about strawberries as it was a bunch of craft/clothes/food/junk vendors trying to sell you everything. I couldn't even find where to buy strawberries except for like $8 for a strawberry shortcake. This wasn't for me and my family. Everything was expensive and just not worth it.
The strawberry festival is fun, but it is just like any other festival. It gets really crowded, the vendors are super close to each other where it makes it hard to take kids to, the food is not very good and of course very expensive. I love strawberries, but I don't think I would ever go back to this festival.
This little festival takes place in downtown Arroyo Grande every May. There are lots of booths and activities, but not that much strawberry-related stuff. I like festivals like the Gilroy Garlic festival, where you can find almost every type of food made with garlic. It's still fun, and the weather is always nice, but be prepared for crowds! The strawberry shortcakes are yummy, but on the expensive side, so make sure you bring some cash. Parking can be tough... you may have to walk a little, otherwise you can take the free shuttle.
If you like crowds and outdoor festivals, you'll like this one. It's where vendors of food, crafts, and produce come together and present their creations to the county. It is one of the largest festivals on the central coast and the weather is almost always perfect in May. They have things for the whole family to do, and we always love to go. The festival itself is free, but bring money for snacks, games, and any goodies you want to bring home. :)
