"Fun Weekend Summer Camp & Retreat"

Finding the time and opportunity for family vacations that are not only fun but nurturing for the soul, can be tough. I wanted to share my experiences of an annual event in Asilomar, California, on the beach near Monterey. Since my children were small, our family has attended the A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment) family camp. This year it is being held July 14 – 17, and the theme is healing. The conference has a deep spiritual, not specifically a religious, focus and is based on the readings of Edgar Cayce.

While the adults attend lectures, the kids and teens have their own program – a mix of games, beach time, and nature exploration balanced with learning about intuition, meditation and dreamwork, plus experiential sessions on how they can use the ideas the guest lecturers are presenting. The young people have a wonderful time. They really create their own community and become fast friends. The counselors are veteran campers who have many years of experience at the camp. The best thing about it is that everyone is accepted for who they are.

For adults, the programs are incredibly interesting, and the family enjoys free time together every day in what is in my opinion, one of the most beautiful sites on the planet.  Check out the link, or e-mail me at joy@scottpublicrelations.com for more information.
