We really liked the old home, farm, and outbuildings. We received a guided tour which always gives you a more complete view. My kids (at the time age 2, 4, 6) were too young to appreciate the experience and would have done much better without the guide in the house. Once outside though, there was room for them to stretch their legs. Definately worth the visit for older kids and their parents though!
This is the only operating Amish farm open to the public. The farm itself dates from the 1700s, the house from 1805. Guided tours show the house and describe the history, culture, and clothing of Old Order Amish. You can take a guided tour of the farm, with its barns, carriage sheds, springhouse, and animals. Also on the groundsis an Early-Americana museum. A food pavilion is open seasonally, and there are changing tables in both men’s and women’s rooms. Sheep shearing days are in April, and there are kerosene-lamp tours in the fall.
