"Free kids activities!"

They have a great kids club here. You can check their website for details. But throughout the summer we did the free kids yoga program. The kids loved it! The instructor was so nice and we had an amazing time:)
They also had fab concerts over the summer…with popular artists…also free and they set up a huge outdoor movie screen and had free movies! Maybe not all for kids…but maybe for date nights;) One of the movies they were showing was Avatar (which was a fairly new release…if you’re reading this a few years from now).
Now this version of the outdoor mall has a store for the boys…Rolling Robots. The Grove in LA has the American Girl store…so here is the boy version. It’s not huge…but it’s enough to make a little boy or even a big boy that loves robots happy:)
Parking can get kind of expensive…so if you wanted to you could park at the Glendale Galleria, by JC Penny…an walk through the mall…exit by The Gap and all you have to do is cross the street…voila…free parking.

"Chic park-like shopping center"

It's a chic outdoor shopping center. Has a park-like ambiance. It has dancing fountain at the center, free train/cable car ride, movie theater, small playground and sometimes live entertainment (probably in the weekends).  I think they a kids' club. Check their website.  Stores and restaurants are expensive.  It's like The Grove in Los Angeles. You may park for free at the nearby mall, Glendale Galleria. It's a short walk. But like any other place, avoid going during holidays because traffic and getting a parking spot can be really bad.

"Fun even just to look around"

The huge water fountain entertained my small children for a good amount of time, especially during the water show with lights and music. Also riding the free train was very exciting for them. This is a great place to spend some time, without having to spend money if you don't want to... though the shopping is fun too!

"Americana at Brand"

This place is owned by the same people as the Grove/Farmer's Market by Fairfax/3rd St.  Smaller in scale it offers a very high class luxury feel - high end restaurants, shops, and boutiques. If things are too pricey, you can always head over to the Glendale Galleria right across the street.

There is a quaint small jungle gym area with sand for the kids to play in and a nice choreographed musical water fountain feature that mimics the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas. During summer nights, they do movies under the starts on the green grassy area.  A nice way to enjoy the outdoors.

The Barnes and Noble Bookstore right across from the park, offers a nice hideaway and some really nice selection of kids/adult books. Recently, the Americana has offered free parking M-Thurs. and a farmers market on Saturday mornings.
