The American Girl Cafe is very pricey, but absolutely worth every penny! If you plan to go, I recommend making reservations FAR in advance or you may not get a spot. The food was great. The dolls can even sit with you at the table and they have their own menus. The employees make this a super special event and everyone loved it!
This has got to be most little girls' dream! The store is awesome because the girls can actually see the dolls and outfits as opposed to seeing them in their magazine and there is so much to do! Their cafe is adorable and they have little high chairs for the dolls and some locations have places for you to get your doll's hair done up. Great place!
Wow. If your girls have these dolls or any interest in them, this is the place to go. We drove 8 hours for my daughter's birthday to go to the American Girl store and cafe.
The store was nicely laid out with many displays and photo opportunities. If you have any of the AG dolls, you can bring them and have their hair done at the beauty salon. My daughter had her doll's ears pierced.
At the cafe, seats are provided for the AG dolls to sit with your kids at the table. Modern but girly-looking, the cafe was clean, crisp and the service was impeccable. The menu selections were diverse, and all of the things we ordered were delicious.
We did the birthday package, which was an extra $10 per person. It included a goody bag for all of the guests and a beautiful birthday cake.
We had a fabulous time at The American Girl Boutique and Bistro when we went with a group from church.
My daughters do not have American Girl dolls so they were limited to 4 specific hairstyles at the salon. Those styles just happened to be the cheapest at $10/each. I was actually relieved to have the limitation since I didn't have to try to nudge my daughters toward the least expensive styles. Still, $10 each adds up when you have more than one kid. I was very impressed by the stylists. They treated each doll and girl as a very special guest and didn't make a big deal out of the fact several girls in our group did not have American Girl dolls.
The food in the bistro is good and you get a lot of it. Just be prepared to pay. The kids all enjoyed having their dolls sit with them at the table during lunch. The dolls got their very own saucer and cup and sat in cute pink seats that slide in place on the table. We had a young boy in our group and were prepared to let him have lunch with one of the dolls of another group member. Bistro staff offered him the option of having a male Bitty Baby as his lunch companion. I thought it was very neat that they let customers who don't have a doll borrow one for lunch.
The girls all loved the doll holders in the bathroom stalls and the bistro decorations.
The cafe isn't the only experience at the American Girl Store. My husband and I took our 4 year-old and her Bitty Baby Bella to the AG Store this past summer. It was hilarious watching my husband's face while he took in all those little girls running around with their dolls. Parents plopping down hundreds of dollars on doll clothes, accessories, cafe meals, salon visits, etc. The economy has to be doing well.
This is a must visit for any fan. The store is amazing! The cafe has great food and even little chairs where your dolls can dine with you!
Little girls love this place and it is a great experience. Those dolls sure are expensive though! You can also bring the doll to the salon and have its hair done which is somewhat cheaper, though I can't shake the feeling I just paid for a doll to have a hairstyle. The cafe has decent food and those dolls sure are cute! I wouldn't bring little ones because I'm terrified they will break one of those $200 dolls.
