"Alta Ski Resort"

Alta is one of the oldest ski resorts in Salt Lake City (in fact, my mom told me she used to ski Alta back in her college days)!  It is an all-ski resort (no snowboarding allowed) and is very fun.  They offer mostly blue and green runs, but have a few harder ones for those more-advance skiiers.  The prices are pretty good....if you're not an experienced skiier, you can purchase a blue and green runs only for about $33 which is very inexpensive.  The regular all day pass is about $65.

"Ski FREE after 3:00!!!"

Ok, we are pretty "cheap" I suppose, but we ALWAYS ski here recently because it's ski FREE after 3:00!  My hubby takes the kids ages 4 and up and he leaves about 1:45 to get up there (it takes about 45 minutes to an hour) and then gets them ready to go so they are right there at 3:00!  There is a "magic carpet" instead of a lame tow rope, and that is a total bonus.  I think that not ALL the lifts are open after 3:00, but enough for a beginner, novice or even an accomplished skiier would enjoy....in other words, this is PERFECT for kids learning to ski, which is what we're all about (and the FREE part, of course!!!)  Great snow, great lifts, great views! (and did I mention FREE after 3:00?????)

"Skiers Only"

Alta's famous saying "Alta is for skiers" which means no snow boarders allowed.  Sorry to all of you who snowboard you will miss out on the greatest resort in Utah which has the greatest snow on earth.  There is runs for all difficulty levels from green circles to double black diamond runs.  You can enjoy the deep powder or race your friends on the laser times race hill.  There is enough mountain that you will never get tired of this resort.  If the clean air, beautiful views, awesome terrain wasn't enough to get you hooked on this resort just remember Alta is for skiers you won't ever have to worry about a snowboard strapping in on the landing of a ski lift.
