We found this to be way overpriced, and really just alright. The day we went was distractingly hot. All I could think about was how to stay in the shade, and how much I wanted a frozen lemonade every time someone passed me by with one. It was HOT. I imagine there are lots of days like that in the summer there. Unless you have a true alligator enthusiast in your midst, I might would find something else to do.
The admission price was very reasonable and included an second free day at this animal park. If you have a little one who loves lizards, this is the place to go. There are tons of absolutely huge alligators and a variety of other animals that you can get close to, including some huge tortoises. There are educational demonstrations, including a feeding that you can watch. Don't expect the trip at this park to occupy your entire day, however. It takes only about 3 hours of time to see it all, but it is worth it. Buy tickets online to get a discount. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet (cheap!) at House of Blues, which is right next door. It is a good time to go there in the morning, and less crowded before the crazy rock and roll crowd arrives later.
This is a unique "zoo". Largely the animals are reptiles, hence the name. But they also have huge tortoises, beavers, lemurs, tigers and a variety of birds. Usually, they have a promotion that you get a coupon for another visit with your previously paid admission. Not to bad if you are in town for a week and need another activity.
We didn't think anything of it when we first walked in because the first alligators were tiny. But, as we walked further in, the alligators got bigger and bigger and they were everywhere! The exhibits were very safe, but I would keep a close watch on little children. My son was very happy to get to hold a tiny alligator after the show and it was a great photo opportunity. The shows were great and it was an amazing experience.
This is a great place to spend the day with younger children. My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed seeing the animals which included reptiles, amphibians and birds. There were live animal demonstrations that were very interesting and the kids all enjoyed touching the animals featured in the presentation. One thing that was disappointing is during the off-season, the alligators hibernate. There is still a lot to do, but if you want to see the alligators, go during the warmer months.
We went to Myrtle Beach for a family vacation a few years ago and wanted to try out "Dick's" restaurant. While we were waiting, we decided to visit Alligator Adventure, as it is all in the same plaza. It was a great time and there were many great exhibits! They even have albino alligators! Have you ever seen a white alligator? I hadn't until this trip. It's pretty cool! There were also a few other small animals there as well. I recommend checking it out!

You walk around and look at all alligators and it's fun but like I said a little scary not knowing what they are going to do!! My husband and I went for the first time in March and we had a good time but it wasn't anymore then just walking around looking at different alligators...fun but needed some more things!
We had a blast when we went here in 09 because when you enter through the gate at the front of the adventure we spotted an aligater off to our left that had gotten out of her area and was attacking the fence to get out. We told the admission lady and everyone was freaking out!! It was a BIg gator. Thats what made it cool for us...the rest was ok, lol
Alligator adventure is just that - alligators. Thousands of them. This is a fun place to go if you have never been, but it's not worth going back. Once you've seen one alligator, you've seen them all. It does however allow the kids to get close and have a good view of the alligators.
About 15 years ago, my parents took my sister and I to Alligator Adventure and I remember having an awesome time! So this summer, my husband and I wanted to go with our 8 month old son. Okay, so our son is a little young and won't remember any of it, but he was FACINATED by the animals. He really enjoyed all the new things to look at. It was HOT, but they have water mist stations to walk through to cool off, and some of the exhibits are indoors. They have a nice little show with many types of animals and baby alligators. It was stroller-friendly and easy to walk around. It was kind of a see it once, seen it all kind of deal for me, but It was a fun experience for him - we will definitely go back again when he is a little older and will remember it!
We took out kids to alligator Adventure the last time we were in Myrtle Beach. My kids are animal lovers and little boy loves alligators and reptiles so this was the place for us. Their favorite attraction/animal there was the alligator with mo tail. My 2 little ones sat there and sang him the "alligator song" they learned in pre-school. The gift shop there was very very reasonably priced. We were there on a very hot day, so the kids enjoyed running through the misting areas to cool off. I highly recommend bringing your animal loving kids to Alligator Adventure.
We went on a very hot day , there was also some kind of news crew or journalism thing going on so we were lucky enough to follow them around and listen to the man tell all the spacifics about the exhibits. We took our 17 month old son and he had a great time, they have plenty of benches and there are even little covered things with benches and misting machines to keep you cool. there are 2 or 3 indoor reptile house type things lol
This is an alligator preserve that has a few other animals. There is a walkway around swampland and you can see several types of gators, crocs and a few other animals. They put on a couple shows about the wildlife, at the end you can touch a small gator. There is a small cafe, giftshop and penny smasher. It is adjancent to a large outdoor mall. Long lines to get in sometimes, use the coupons in the vistor books in your hotel as it is pricey for what you get.
