Aliso Beach is one of the most popular beach in Laguna Beach. With white sand and million dollar views, it's not hard to understand why. Aliso Beach playground is set right on the far end of the beach with swings, slides and a pirate ship, plus some unique, fun climbing and riding toys. The world famous The Montage Resort is just nearby. This beach is also popular with families because unlike most other beaches in the area, it does not have steep climb down cliffs to get to the beach. Its easy-to-access parking lot with great public restrooms and pay parking spaces is next to a fairly flat sand beach that sits near the mouth of the Aliso Creek. This also makes a the beach wheelchair accessible.
Always keep a close eye on young children because the playground is on the beach and water is not far away.
There are firepits right on the beach just begging you to curl up with a blanket and roast some smores.
One of the things we find unique to this beach are the sand cliffs. Aliso Creek empties into the ocean at this beach and often carves new canyons in the sand overnight. The kids love sliding down the hills, creating avalanches and watching the surf mix with the river water. The cliffs are about 6 feet high.
Other dunes can be present without running water below them that are equally enjoyable.
There are often skimboarders near the south side of this beach. They are amazing to watch as they surf the waves that crash near the sand. The experienced ones can fly into the air at amazing heights.
We have enjoyed this beach many times and it's high on our list of beaches we prefer.
I love Aliso Creek Beach. It is one of those places that makes Laguna Beach so special. The last time we ere there we saw dolphins frolicking in the ocean ! There is even a park right on the beach! We are never disspointed whenever we visit this beach.
