Gardens are open 9 AM to 5 PM daily. Garden Entry fees during Blooming Months (January through April) are $4.00 per person for adults and $2.00 per person for children (ages 2 to 12).
Take your time and take a picnic. This hidden treasure is usually not too busy, despite its semi-urban location. If you are looking to teach the kids about gardening, this can be a great place to whet their appetite. Also, it is a great site for homeschoolers to pursue studies into botany.
One of Quail Trail’s most important sites bursts into bloom December through April with camellias and azaleas. It’s a lovely place for a stretch of the legs anytime.
The state park, which contains the gardens, offers swimming, nature trails, canoe rentals, fishing, and boating. You can tour the gardens’ historic home and botanical exhibits in season.
