"An adventure for all ages - John put us on the fish!"

John, seasoned guide and owner of the outfit, met us for a quick evening salmon fishing trip that he was kind enough to squeeze in during our visit to Wrangell. We ended catching a King which was quite a feat since it wasn't really the peak for catching them out in the ocean - so we were truly impressed that after just a half hour or so we had a hook in one.

It was a family affair reeling it in - our son was pretty excited though it was clear he wasn't sure what was on the end of the line but he didn't care!

The boat had a head, bench seats and tables, a stove, pretty much all the makings of home floating on the sea -- even Oreos! The Oreos were our sons' next favorite part of the boat after catching a fish - being his favorite cookie, he was in heaven! We also had pizza aboard the boat and dinner on the seas was pretty unique for our family!

We loved and appreciated the fact that John's services perfectly cater to families - he has some clients from as far away as Texas that come for a week specifically to make memories aboard the Timberwolf with John and keep returning each year as a fun family tradition! The family that was offloading right before us had a fantastic day of Halibut fishing and looked as if they'd have some nice meals in the freezer the rest of the year!

Having amenities like the mini kitchen, ample seating (where one can lay down for a nap as well), and a bathroom on board is so helpful to adventuring with kids (big and little) in tow! It's also so convenient to step on board and know that all of your fishing needs are taken care of - just buy the necessary licenses and you're set! (No lugging around poles or tackle awkwardly.)

John take the catch after the trip and makes quick work of cleaning and filleting the fish. Then up to his office and shop to flash freeze and store them until your trip on the ferry -- or you can arrange for them to fly back home with you as well.

Three hours went by so fast for us and we loved every minute. We agreed the next time we were in Southeast for a visit we'd be back to book a full day trip with our boys!

Disclosure: My family enjoyed a hosted "Night Bite" experience with John Yeager aboard his boat. We had a blast and all opinions are our own. Thanks for the fishy memories!
