Crab Cove Visitor Center at Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda features all new exhibits opened in April 2004. You can see bay creatures in the 800-gallon aquarium system, use interactive stations for varying age groups to view microscopic animals, build a crab from the inside out, or get a lug worm's view of the mudflats. You'll see amazing depictions of the underwater world of San Francisco Bay.
Alameda Crab Cove is a small museum that presents the life in the San Francisco Bay. It is a proof that less is more. There is more than enough for everybody to get a lot of information without having the feeling of touring a museum.
Children can see fish and crabs in the aquarium. The gift shop has nice items. After your visit, you can have a picnic at the beach, located a few meters away or just have fun in the sand. There is a grassy field where the family can play ball.
A nice way to spend a sunny day.
