"Affordable Family Fun"

Even those that don't play golf enjoy a round of Putt-Putt, and I can personally attest to that. It's inexpensive and fun for anyone in the family that can hold a putter regardless of grip. Adventure Landing is one of my personal favorites when playing Mr. Mom on a weekend afternoon or school holiday.

Adventure Landing in Winston-Salem, NC has 2 well-maintained Par 2 courses without the frills, and frustration, of moving obstacles like windmills. My 9-year old couldn't care less how many shots it takes her to finally sink the ball. She just loves the game and seeing what the next hole's setup is. During our last trip, she saw me get 3 hole-in-ones and thought her daddy was pretty awesome. Trust me, it was sheer luck but I enjoyed the momentary celebrity status.

When you're done tallying up your score, head inside their arcade for more entertainment. Most of the games dispense paper tickets for points won, which can be exchanged for trinkets at the gift counter. The arcade is sparse in comparison to something like the one at Great Wolf Lodge, but it does the trick to top off the day. I wouldn't drive here just for the arcade. Adventure Landing also has bumper boats, which are seasonal and we haven't tried them out yet.

Pricing at the time of this post was $6.50 for an adult game of golf and $4.50 for a child. Arcade tokens run from 25 cents each to 17 cents each depending how many you purchase at one time. To stretch your dollar the furthest, go to their website and check for online coupons.  During my last trip, I had a coupon for a free kid's game of Putt-Putt with the purchase of an adult game. When we finished, I redeemed another coupon for 100 arcade tokens for $15. So, for $20 my daughter and I got a round of golf and a lot of arcade time!
