After a visit to Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace National Historic Park, you should definitely take a few minutes to drive down the road to see Abraham Lincoln’s Childhood Home in Knob Creek. This area was mentioned several times throughout our visit to the Birthplace, and our kids were interested in seeing where Lincoln grew up, so we took a little drive and stopped here. They were stunned by the size of the cabin in which Lincoln’s entire family lived, comparing it to the size of our own. We were able to teach them a lot about life in those times and I think they really absorbed quite a bit. Take a minute to stroll out to the garden as well, it’s very nice in early summer, when butterflies abound across the grounds.
