This was a very nice place to visit, though a bit off the beaten path. While we certainly enjoyed the visitor’s center, and learned a lot, we were disappointed to find that the museum was closed for remodeling. This fact was not listed on their website, so we didn’t find out until we got there, though we made the best of it. The kids enjoyed doing the Jr. Ranger booklet and learned quite a lot about the life and times of Abraham Lincoln, just in the visitor’s center. There were great exhibits, a video presentation, and knowledgeable rangers. I would recommend, however, taking a moment to call and find out if the museum is open before driving out.
