A Day in the West specializes in fun 4 x 4 jeep tours and horseback rides for the whole family. Our cowboy and Indian guides will show you just what they think is special in this area while they show you the best of our red rock canyons.
A Day in the West is run by the Bradshaw Family, who started giving tours of Sedona back in 1949. Bob Bradshaw began as a stunt man and set builder back in Sedona's movie error- Elivs stayed at his ranch while filming Stay Away Joe. His son John (Sedona's vice mayor) has continued the family business with a fleet of modified jeeps and horseback rides along the Verde River.
Sedona's oldest and continually family owned tour company, A Day in the West Jeep Tour is fun from beginning to end! In fact, you know you're in for something unique from the moment you report to your jeep and you encounter a cowboy in chaps, boots, a ten gallon hat and holster who introduces himself as your driver!
We went out on the Lil' Rattler Tour, which was a 2-hour excursion into the Coconino National Forest to drive the rocky trails and take in the picturesque landscapes and sweeping views. We made our way over boulders and rocky roads. We also learned about early homesteader life, the founding of Sedona itself, and plant life in the area. Our driver was so knowledgeable as pointed out natural landmarks around the area and fondly told us about them. He was great with the kids. There were 6 of us our tour which made the experience intimate and special. I highly recommend this excursion to any family traveling to the area.
One tip: Check Groupon before booking your tour with A Day in the West!! They are frequently available for their tours, I got a great deal because of Groupon!
